When you truly love and are honest with someone, you’re never worried about them checking your phone to see who you’re talking to. You don’t cover your tracks by using fake names for contacts nor delete messages.
When you love someone, you don’t even think about downloading dating apps just to see how many matches you’d get for a quick ego boost or to wonder what it’s like to be single again. You don’t flirt with anyone no matter how ‘harmless’ you think it is.
When you love someone, you don’t let yourself get too drunk to think straight or lose all self-control. You don’t use alcohol or drugs as an excuse for cheating. You don’t become unfaithful just because you’re under the influence of whatever it is you’re taking.
When you love someone, you don’t just give out your phone number to people who are obviously interested in sleeping with you. You don’t act like you’re single or lie about your relationship status.

When you love someone, you stay true the agreements you’ve made together, and if that agreement is only being sexual with each other, then that’s what you do happily.
When you love someone, you don’t hit up your exes or your other attractive friends so you’d have a backup in case of a breakup. You don’t encourage or lead people to think they have a chance when you already know you’re in a relationship. You give your current relationship your all, doing your best to see it succeed.
When you love someone, you don’t do inappropriate things in front of them to make them jealous. You don’t call them ‘paranoid’ for being upset, when you know you were hoping to see their reaction to feel that they care for you. You don’t make them feel like they’re the lucky ones because you chose to stick with them for so long now, and you’re convinced you could do better.
When you love someone, you don’t have sex with the first person you see just because you had a small argument or misunderstanding with your partner. You don’t destroy a relationship built on trust just for a night of distraction or lust or even self pity. You work through the issues with healthy forms of communication.
When you love someone, cheating is out of the question. Be it physically or emotionally, it doesn’t matter. You don’t want to cheat on the person you love. You would never risk losing them just for temporary pleasure, instant gratification or a biological wiring for sex. The loyal love in your heart knows you don’t want to hurt your partner like that, and that honoring the verbal agreements of the relationship are most important.
When you love someone, you don’t take them for granted. You give them the utmost love and respect that they deserve.
When you love someone, you stay loyal. And what does it really mean to be loyal? Here is what it means to be loyal:
- Being loyal means keeping certain things private. Never say anything to embarrass your partner or put them in an uncomfortable position, especially in public.
- Being loyal means being aware of your partner’s weaknesses, flaws and fears and giving them support to overcome them.
- Being loyal means prioritizing your partner’s needs and considering them as important as your own.
- Being loyal means being there for your partner no matter what.
- Being loyal means staying true to your word, against any and all odds.
- Being loyal means being sensitive and receptive to your partner’s feelings.
- Being loyal means being 100% honest and 200% faithful.
