A simple act of kindness by a few workers at a bus station made the world a little warmer by creating cozy beds for stray and homeless dogs.
Winter can be a very difficult time to survive for homeless pups. Employees at the Barreirinha bus terminal in Brazil noticed the many stray dogs in the area, and had compassion for them. They created a space at their facility where these lovable dogs can stay warm and be looked after. Not only are they providing the pups with food and water, but the staff also made them cute little beds out of old tires which are covered with warm blankets.
It may not seem like a huge deal to some, but for these dogs who’ve either been abandoned or have grown up on the streets, being shown love means everything in the world to them, as these doggie beds to them resemble 5-star hotels.
The adorable trio in these pictures were named Max, Pitoco, and Zainho, and telling by the looks on their faces, they couldn’t be more grateful.
A local government official and animal lover Fabiane Rosa witnessed the beautiful act of kindness and praised the efforts of the bus station staff:
“Congratulations to the terminal staff, everyone understands that these angels are there and have a right to be… So many companies in Curitiba could follow this example, adopting a pet. Of course it is not the ideal, but at least there are those who are looking after them.”
Many pets are without homes and without love around the world. If you notice a stray or homeless dog in your area, or see some older dogs at your local animal shelter that aren’t easily adopted, consider following the example of the kind workers at this bus station and doing something small to make a difference for them. Even volunteering to walk some of the unadopted pups at your local shelter once a month can be a ray of love and light for the lovable dogs who spend their days alone in cages.
Be the compassionate change this world needs.
You are loved.
