Jimmy brought his team to Cameroon, Kenya, Somalia, Uganda and Zimbabwe, looking for more than 100 villages and towns where people do not have access to clean water.

“Clean water is something EVERYONE needs to survive,” Jimmy wrote on his philanthropy website, beastphilanthropy.org. “Beast Philanthropy is committed to making this valuable resource accessible to more communities around the world, by funding and building water wells that will provide clean and safe drinking water to tens of thousands of people across the globe.”

They hired local construction crews and sought out towns in need of clean water, and began their project of building 100 wells.

In the village of Toroplongon, in order to get water for the day, students need to each wake up early in the morning and trek one hour through the hilly jungle to the nearest source of water. They each carry buckets, which when filled weigh up to 40 pounds, making the daily trek very difficult for children.

The water is also quite dirty and regularly gives students an upset stomach.

Jimmy built them a new water well, and now the children will have local clean water provided for them by a well right next to the school, and won’t need to trek for 2 hours each day to get it.

“We say thank you for the water,” one little girl said to Jimmy while getting water from a new well.

The children and residents of each village and town were deeply grateful, and Jimmy was able to successfully build all 100 new water wells.

In the town of Chitora, Jimmy learned that most of the students lacked transportation, so he decided to buy each one of them a new bike.

On their 46th well, they found that the town was divided in half by a river with a wooden bridge. The river was known to flood and was dangerous to cross during the rainy seasons, so Jimmy’s kind heart organized and built them an entirely new and safe metal and concrete bridge.

Jimmy is a wonderful example of someone using their fame to make a compassionate difference in the world.
