Photo of 96-Yr-Old Husband Feeding Wife With Alzheimer’s Proves Life-Long Love Exists

0

One of the most beautiful things about seeing older couples is getting to witness the small acts of love and compassion that they show each other, and getting to see how they’ve been able to make it last.

While eating lunch, an anonymous contributor to Love What Matters shared a beautiful experience that they witnessed; a 96-year-old husband feeding his 93-year old-wife who is suffering from Alzheimer’s.

“As I was sitting eating my double cheeseburger at Wendy’s, I glanced over at this older couple, and thought ‘That’s sweet’ And continued with my meal. But when I looked again, in between bites, I saw this gentleman feeding his wife.”

“My whole life I’ve yearned for a love that strong. The gentleman got up from his seat to throw his food away and I couldn’t resist asking how long he and his wife had been married. He looked at me and asked me to guess his age but not to guess too low. After a few guesses he told me he was 96 and his wife is 93 who is suffering from Alzheimer’s.”

“This is their date night. He also told me that if they make it till June, they will be celebrating 75 years of marriage!”

“Getting all the way to the end of the line with the person you started out with is one of the most glorious things on the face of this earth.”

“Could a couple be more blessed than to have that happen? To share a deep love and bond that only grows as we age, that is a beautiful thing.”

This loving husband’s commitment to his wonderful wife, who most likely has lost many of her memories due to Alzheimer’s, shows us how deep the love for another can run. It teaches us how important it is to take care of and to show love to those we care about each day.

“True love is being there for the good times, the hard times, and for all time.”

Massage these stress points to immediately relax a fussy or crying baby

1

Reflexology is the ancient practice of massaging pressure points throughout the body to stimulate nerve endings and relieve pain. These nerve endings correspond to certain organs and places in the body. Parents are looking to help their young children through reflexology, especially when it comes to babies that are just getting started and adjusting to being in their beautiful new world.

Listed below are six ways to help your children with pain or discomfort. Professionals recommend that before starting the massage, relax your baby and encourage blood flow to the feet with a gentle food rub or warm bath.

1. Head and Teeth Pain

Babies can often have pain from teething and massaging the tips of their little toes can be very useful and bring relief. You can even do this while they are sleeping, and they will be less likely to wake up from teething pain.

2. Sinus Pressure and Pain

According to reflexologists, the pressure points in the center underside of your child’s toes correspond to the sinuses. Apply a gentle pressure to these spots to provide sinus relief.

3. Chest

This area can be used if a baby is having chest congestion. The pads of the feet just below the toes are pressure points connected to the chest. Applying gentle pressure and massaging in a circular motion can help to relieve the discomfort of congestion or pain associated with coughing.

4. Stomach Pain (solar plexus)

The solar plexus is a storehouse of nerves between the stomach and the lungs. The center of the foot corresponds with the solar plexus, and lightly massaging this area can provide relief from upset tummies, spasms, tightness and trouble breathing.

5. Abdomen Pain (Upper and Lower)

For constipation, indigestion and heartburn, reflexologists recommend massaging the space between the middle of your baby’s foot and the pads of their feet. If pain from gas or bloating is experienced, try gentle massaging the middle of the foot and the heel to help provide pain relief and to bring comfort.

6. Pelvis

The heel of the foot is connected to the pelvis, hips and also part of the stomach. As babies grow rapidly, tension, tightness and sometimes pain can be common in a baby’s hips. Gently rubbing the heel can help your little one feel better and can also be helpful for constipation and upset stomach.

7. A Sense of Security and Calm

Massaging the back base and sides of the heel, known as the mother earth area, gives babies a feeling of safety and comfort. Gently holding the base of the heel with your fingers and applying gentle pressure can help a crying or fussy baby feel calm by giving them a feeling of restful relaxation and relief. Known as the Mother Earth Hold, it gives a gentle sense of grounding and is often recommended at the start of a baby foot massaging routine.

As with any recommendation, always consult a doctor if your child is experiencing a serious medical issue, but certain pains and issues can be soothed and helped with some gentle reflexology. Give these tips a try on your little ones and help them have some relief and relaxation throughout their day.

Formerly Homeless Woman Buys 4 Homes, Lets Homeless Families Live There For Free

2

When a once homeless woman witnessed the growing number of homeless families in Melbourne, she decided to personally make a difference.

Jessica Pearce was staying at a hotel during during the Christmas holiday and was shocked at how many people she saw suffering on the streets.

“I guess we felt shocked and I suppose a bit guilty – we didn’t realize how bad the housing situation in Melbourne was… The streets were lined with people sleeping on mattresses or on the ground,” Jessica said.

Jessica and her husband decided that night to walk around the streets and to talk to some of the homeless people to get a feel for their situation. They met several of Melbourne’s homeless, were able to learn about their circumstances, and after give them $20 and $50 bills in the spirit of Christmas.

Jessica said that one man’s story in particular really moved her;

“He had a two and a three-year-old who were staying with his ex-partner and he wasn’t going to have access to them because he didn’t have somewhere to live.”

After hearing his story, Jessica and her husband brought them man back to their hotel, and bought him a nice room for two nights.

“I guess it just touched me and I thought that maybe there was something that we could do,” Jessica said.

Then after the two nights in an even greater act of love and charity, they decided to pay the hotel to keep the room for the poor man for an entire month.

“I wanted him to have stable accommodation for the children.”

The deep love in Jessica’s heart still wanted to do more, for she realized that not only was this man suffering from not being able to afford a home, but two amazing children were going to have to be potentially fatherless also. Jessica had just recently finished paying off her own mortgage, and was interested in buying investment properties in Melbourne.

She found that if she looked into cheaper communities, she could buy 4 houses for the same price as what she had originally set out to pay for a large rental. She then decided and purchased 4 homes and said that these properties will provide housing to struggling people.

Jessica is planning to offer both short term and long term housing plans, based on the needs of each individual, and she is working with government organizations to help find ways to keep these houses afloat.

Jessica’s history gives her a deep insight into the life of being homeless. When she was 15 years old, her parents kicked her out of the house, and she was only able to find a place to live thanks to a kind math teacher of hers. Her experience with this kind teacher is a large part of what motivated her to offer housing to the homeless today.

“He was connected with a house in Elwood that provided accommodation for young people who wanted to stay in school, which is probably a lot of the reason that I had the idea of providing a house like that myself now.”

Jessica is now sharing the love and kindness she once received multiplied by four, and who knows what inspiring acts of kindness the beautiful souls she is now helping will one day do themselves.

Homeless Woman Fell Asleep Then Suddenly Every Customer Took Turns Secretly Giving Her Money

0

Staying warm during winter is not an easy task for the homeless. If you’ve ever had to walk just a few short minutes in the bitter cold, you know how uncomfortable it can be. Yet this is the reality the homeless have to endure for the entire day, except when they can sometimes be allowed to come into a warm restaurant or cafe.

Alexthegreat90 witnessed a beautiful moment of compassion when one morning as he was eating his breakfast, he noticed a homeless woman sitting in front of him, able to finally get some much needed rest after most likely spending all night in the cold.

He mentions that she has the entirety of her personal belongings within a small backpack next to her, and she was curled up in the booth with a blanket unaware of the customers around her.

Without words, customers one after the other began to pull out their wallets and silently leave money on the table in front of this sleeping woman. Alex said he was amazed, as he witnessed his fellow breakfast-goers treat this woman as a sister, as a mother.

“I took this picture this morning. Ever been somewhere and seen something that amazed you? I’m at the east side McDonalds and this lady was sitting in front of me sleeping. She has everything she owns in a small backpack.”

“Curled up with her blanket she sleeps not knowing what is going on around her. While she is sleeping everyone is getting their money out and putting it on the table so it’s there when she wakes up,” Alex wrote.

There was not a followup photo to see her reaction when she woke up, but we can imagine she must have been overjoyed.

If you’ve ever felt alone, you can start to understand how it must feel to be homeless and struggling to survive. Without anyone to turn to, where can they find love?

The large majority of the homeless suffer from one or more forms of mental illness, leaving them largely unable to maintain a regular working job.

We cannot imagine the difficulties of their childhoods, nor imagine how much they’ve suffered day in and day out up to this point, so it’s so very important to always be as kind as possible to the homeless.

If we all truly understood their life journey and their struggle, we would all be a lot kinder and give a lot more.

The homeless are also our family.

You are Loved.
