With more than 390,000 households without power in Florida after Hurricane Irma due to strong winds, rain and flooding, electrical linemen were working day and night to help bring the area back online.

These electrical linemen came from all over the state, and even all over the country to help repair the damage done. After noticing how hard they were working while away from their homes for so long, many locals wanted to show their gratitude by doing something to help these generous electricians.

“See this line? All these ladies waited in line tonight to take loads of linemen’s laundry home. One lineman asked me what those ladies were standing in line for. When I told him they were waiting to be given laundry, with a look of sheer disbelief he said, “You gotta be kidding me.” What a great night.” Jennifer Taylor Koukos wrote in a Facebook post after taking a picture of the women lined up to help.

Florida utilities said that by the following Monday, they restored power to about 95% of the 7.8 million homes and businesses who were without power after Hurricane Irma, yet still 391,000 customers were left without electricity.

This meant that hundreds of thousands of people were stuck in the hot and humid weather of Florida without air conditioning or a way to cool off.

The amazing dedication and overtime work of the electrical linemen was truly appreciated, and by showing their gratitude to them, these women were able to make their days a little easier.

Kind Woman Used Her Lunch Break To Eat With A Homeless Man

While lunch breaks are usually a time to hurry, eat and get back to work, one kind woman decided to use it to help a fellow human being.

An Instagram user known as Anonymous_uk29 was outside one day and saw an act of kindness that resonated in their heart. A kind woman went to an outdoor food vendor during her lunch break, purchased two meals, and then brought one to a homeless man and sat down and ate together with him on the sidewalk.

“I saw this woman buy two meals at a street vendor and give this man one of the meals,” Anonymous_uk29 wrote.

She introduced herself and talked to him about his life. She was his equal and just wanted to express inclusion to a fellow human being.”

Thousands of hearts online have appreciated the woman’s kindness for the homeless man.

“God bless this young woman showing her compassion,” wrote Margaret H.

“Homeless People are usually not there because they want to be, They are still Humans and need to be treated with kindness and Love,” commented Donna B.

“Being able to understand their uniqueness and many times special situations and circumstances is the gift of a GOOD SOUL..” wrote Christy H.

“Beautiful. More folks need to open, not just their eyes, but hearts,” shared Terry M.

Sometimes we overlook the homeless on the streets as we are going about our daily lives. We can forget that they, like us, are human too, and are often engulfed in feelings of loneliness. By giving just a few short moments of our time, and maybe a little charity, we can make all the difference in someone’s day, and help them to feel loved and accepted.

How beautiful a day can be when kindness touches it.

You are Loved.

Kind Man Gave A Free Ride Home From The E.R. To An Elderly Lady Who Has No Family

Getting re-situated after having to go to the emergency room can be a stressful experience, and it makes the kindness and gentleness of the people around all the more meaningful.

While in the hospital’s E.R., Ashley Cherry witnessed a stranger offer and drive home an elderly lady who had no one to come and pick her up.

“I hardly post things on fb but today I just couldn’t help myself,” Ashley explained. “My husband and I were in the ER and an elderly lady was wheeled out to leave. She told the receptionist she had no family or ride home. All of the sudden this AMAZING gentleman who had been waiting with his wife approached the lady and told her he would gladly take her home.”

The kind man did not know the older lady, and declined her offer to pay him for driving her home.

“This man not knowing her or having a clue where she lived volunteered his time to care of this lovely woman. She offered to pay but he kindly declined like any good man would. As he went to get his truck I wheeled her out and put her in the vehicle.”

“As I watched them drive away my only thoughts were “there are still great people in this world” and “We have to care for our elders like this nice man.”

As the man drove the older woman home, his wife waited for him in the E.R. and Ashley was able to talk with her.

“I did get a little info from his wife. His name is Jeffery and he is military here at Ft.Campbell Ky. Not only does this man serve our great country, he serves his great little community. I just wanted to give a little recognition and respect to this man. Jeffery, if you see this, just know your deeds are recognized and appreciated by your community. Thank you Sir for serving our country and our community. Please feel free to like and share.”

Being there for someone in need not only blesses the one who receives, but also blesses the giver, and blesses all of those around by showing them something beautiful.

You are Loved.

He’s Teaching His Partner To Read Again After She Had A Stroke, Love Is Beautiful

This picture tells the story of recovery, but more importantly, it tells of love.

Millions of people around the world found a place in their hearts touched when a picture appeared online showing a man teaching his partner how to read again after she had suffered a stroke.

The image was taken in a Starbucks, where 82-year-old John Allen takes his long-term partner Linda Alexander, 70, six times each week.

It was an image of True Love; the picture of John Allen, 82, teaching his partner Linda Alexander, 72, how to read after she suffered brain damage from a stroke that was posted on Reddit.

After falling ill five years ago, Linda suffered severe brain damage following a stroke, losing much of her memory.
To help in her recovery, John Allen has taken it upon himself to teach his partner how to read again, using flashcards while drinking their morning coffee.

A picture of the couple, who have been together for 11 years, was taken by a fellow customer, who posted it to social media saying he was “overwhelmed by the love the couple showed for each other”.

Touchingly, Linda told an interviewer that for a long time after her illness the only words she could say were ‘I love you’. She told NBC news, ‘I’m still enjoying my life, you know? I’m not sad. I’m not angry.’

More than two million people have seen the picture of Mr Allen teaching his partner with flashcards.

The right side of Linda’s body is still partially-paralyzed, but she said that she still had an ambition to drive and was determined to read.
Not only does he take his beloved to coffee and lunch every day, but Mr. Allen also takes her to the gym three times a week to help her build up her strength in the right side of her body.

The couple’s affection was initially captured by Matthew Ballestero, who posted it to Reddit, with the caption ‘Patience, love and understanding at its finest’.

After meeting the couple, Ballestero explained: “My friends and I were overwhelmed by the love that these two had for each other, and I knew I wanted to let them know how much of an inspiration and a perfect example of true love they were to me.”

He added; “You may be losing your memory, Linda, but the love that you and John have for each other will never be lost. Thank you for your beautiful example, Linda and John.”

Woman Leaves Back Door Open As Storm Approaches And Later Finds 3 Baby Deer Seeking Shelter

0

If you live in or around any wooded area, chances are that you have had your fair share of encounters with deer.

They live in various areas of the country. In some regions, people try to keep them away from their vegetable gardens. However, the sight of a baby deer will melt just about any heart and make any gardener forget all about the flowers they ate last night.

After all, if you’ve seen Bambi, you probably have a soft spot for these beautiful woodland creatures.

The reality is, a spotted fawn is one of the cutest baby animals around. But what’s sweeter than a baby deer? Three!

That’s exactly what one woman discovered in her living room, after leaving her back door open while closing windows to prepare for an oncoming storm.

Imgur user  Amscolie shared her story after accidentally leaving her back door open as a storm began to set in outside.

She went outside to check on the deer she typically cares for, but couldn’t find them anywhere.

Turns out, they may have been one or two steps ahead of her.

Animals tend to have better weather detecting abilities than most humans. We don’t know exactly how they do it, but they may sense changes in air pressure, or hear sounds at a frequency beyond what human ears are capable of.

Often times dogs, horses, and birds tend to get uneasy before a thunderstorm or another major weather event; they know something is happening.

Amscolie’s deer are no exception. Three fawns snuck into her house without her noticing, thanks to the open back door.

Amscolie explains,
“I raise orphaned wildlife. Recently, the back door was open as a storm was coming. The deer were nowhere to be found. Went inside, was heading to the front door, only to see them next to an end table in the living room. Told them they could sleep in the house for the night because it was going to be nasty.”

Instead of worrying about the storm, they got to snuggle in and have a cozy night away from the bad weather.

According to Amsoclie, deer show their gratitude just like dogs, with lots of exuberant kisses to show their appreciation!

Amscolie is right when she writes, “But how could you ever say no to a face like this?”

The answer is? You simply can’t. These little Bambis are too cute to resist!
