Here’s How To Drink Water And Lose Weight

1

Getting rid of belly fat is often a big new year’s goal for most, and it’s possible to do just by learning a few simple techniques of when and how to drink water. The benefits of drinking water are numerous, as the human body consists of roughly 60%-75% water.

A 2009 study found that drinking 500ml of water before a meal showed a 44% greater decline in weight over the course of 12 weeks for participants (Dennis, 2010).

Another study found that drinking 17 ounces of water increases the metabolic rate by 30% in both men and women, and that this increase occurred within an hour (Boschman, 2003)

Researchers at the University of Birmingham in the U.K. confirmed the weight loss benefits of drinking water before meals by having 42 overweight participants drink 16 ounces of water 30 minutes before meals, and another 42 overweight participants imagine that they were full before eating. The group that drank water lost an average of 2.87 pounds more than those who imaged being full. Drinking water just once daily before one meal resulted in an average weight loss of 1.76 pounds (Parretti, 2015).

It is said that water is the source of life, and it is involved in many very important bodily functions; such as regulating body temperature, hydrating muscles, detoxing internal organs, carrying oxygen and nutrients to cells, helping with digestion, relieves headaches and water also increases our metabolism!
Increasing one’s metabolism is a key aspect to losing unwanted weight and these methods will help you slim down as well as feel healthier during the holidays this year.

It is recommended to drink the following amounts of water based on your body weight:

Body Weight & 12 ounce glasses of water per day:

140 pounds (63kg) = 6

180 pounds (81kg) = 8

250 pounds (113kg) = 10

Try changing out the carbonated and sugary drinks for some H20, making sure to drink the water 30 minutes before meals each day, and get ready to shed some pounds!

You are loved.

A Year After Robin Williams Passed, His Son Began To Carry On His Father’s Legacy Of Compassion

A year after Robin Williams passed, his son Zak Williams began to carry on his father’s legacy of humanitarian service by visiting prisons and teaching inmates how to write resumes, look for jobs, manage finances and plan for retirement.

While many children of world famous actors tend to go into show business themselves, Zak Williams is a little different. His goal is focused on making a positive difference in the world by sharing financial education to prison inmates and at-risk communities.

Some of the least privileged and most forgotten Americans are the prisoners of San Quentin State Prison, and now Zak is teaching a weekly class to the inmates in order to help them be in a better place when they are finished serving their time, and to put love into a place where love is so hard to come by.

“I come from an entitled background where I could have not worked hard — just coasted for a chunk of my life, up to a point,” Williams said. “But I opted to take pride and joy in the work that I do and to establish accountability.”

Robin Williams was not only a loving and funny actor beloved by all, but he himself supported countless charities and wonderful programs around the world.

“I think he would have loved the program and loved participating; we know he’s there in their spirit,” his son Zak Williams said.

The classes consist of three modules:

1. Re-entry, which involves communication, interviewing skills and developing a resume.

2. Personal finance, which cultivates an understanding of one’s own personal finances, assets and liabilities.

3. Retirement, which focuses on investment strategies

The inmates of San Quentin are not only happy to be taking his class, but one of the inmates has taken a leadership role by helping to teach the class himself.

“It’s not hard to be compassionate,” Williams said.

Zak Williams’ compassionate heart has made a beautiful impact on the lives of those who are in need of love the most, and it’s highly likely that his efforts will direct a great and beautiful change in the hearts and minds of many of those in San Quentin’s prison.

Yet around the world, millions of people are starving this Thanksgiving, going to bed hungry and unsure where their next meal will come from. It’s difficult to imagine that kind of life when it seems so far away, but the reality is that many very, very lovable people; children, mothers, and fathers are without food. We don’t always know how to help, but now there’s an easy and fun way to feed the world’s hungry; by playing a free online game!

Freerice.com is an online game that was donated to the UN’s World Food Programme, and it offers trivia, English, humanities, math, chemistry, geography, and language learning topics that you can choose from to play (it’s very easy 🙂 ).

The bonus to this game is, for every correct answer, 10 grains of rice are donated to feed the world’s hungry! The game has a small advertisement on the bottom, and this is how they are able to fund this wonderful charity project.

Please take a few moments to give the game a try! They even have a high score ranking where some kind players have donated close to one hundred million grains of rice to the hungry! Who thought we could have fun playing a game for a good cause 🙂

Also if you enjoy this game, please take a moment to teach a family member or friend how to play it this Thanksgiving. Maybe you have a parent or Grandpa who enjoys his time relaxing at home each day, and would love to stimulate his mind through a free trivia game (which science has shown leads to enhanced mental benefits such as prolonged memory) and to help feed the hungry at the same time.

You can play this wonderful game Free Rice by clicking here.

The compassionate Mother Teresa taught us, “If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed just one” and also, “Not all of us can do great things, but we can do small things with great love.”

Let’s honor this Thanksgiving by not only feeding ourselves, but by feeding those who are without food and who need our love and support.

Always help someone, you might be the only one who does. Varun Pruthi travels the streets of India in search of those struggling to survive.

Often times he finds men and women between 60 to 100 years old working in physically difficult jobs such as rickshaw pulling. They work seven days a week to support themselves and their families, earning around $1.50 per day.

Varun sees them in their difficult situations, deeply moved and impressed by their ability to rise above their difficult life circumstances, and his compassionate heart brings him to give them money equal to two weeks worth of their work.

Helping dozens of individuals at a time was not enough for Varun, as he saw so many still left living in poverty. He wanted to inspire others to help the millions of people around the world living in poverty, so he began making videos of these truly beautiful moments of compassion. He uses the majority of the income from his videos to give to more and more people in need.

Varun often lets viewers know the location of the people in need that he finds, and asks his followers to come to them and help support them as well. So many lives have been touched and changed by the kind and compassionate heart of one man trying to make a difference in the world, and Varun has begun speaking at public schools to inspire young students to become future leaders of kindness.

Follow Varun Pruthi here on Youtube and here on Facebook.

Don’t be surprised if you find yourself crying during each and every one of Varun’s kindness videos. The act of helping someone who is struggling, of seeing their pain when no one else does and reaching out to them with love, is such a beautiful experience.

The famous and kind actor Bill Murray went to a bluegrass concert in Charleston, South Carolina, bought every remaining ticket, and handed them out to the people waiting in line.

Charleston is the hometown of Bill Murray, and the kindhearted celebrity decided to make every one of his neighbor’s nights a little bit better. Known for his random acts of kindness, and sometimes comedy, Bill shows us the beauty of compassion as someone who has attained all they need in life financially.

Adam Gloekler was standing in the lobby waiting to see the SteelDrivers perform, and he saw Bill walk right in and begin handing tickets out. “He went up to everyone in life waiting to buy tickets at the box office and gave them all tickets,” Gloeckler said.

“It’s something like this that you can bring a whole community together and start ‘Paying It Forward’ just like Bill did,” Gloeckler said.

“It is something that everyone who experienced it will never forget,” Gloeckler said as he took the picture of this act of kindness. “If only everyone in the world was like Bill Murray!”

If you see an opportunity in your community this week to share a little kindness, let Bill Murray inspire you to do so and help to make this world become the loving place it was meant to be.
