Sandra Bullock Lovingly Donated $1 Million For Hurricane Relief

1

Actress Sandra Bullock lovingly donated $1 million to the Red Cross in a beautiful act of compassion. After witnessing many thousands of Texan and Louisianan residents becoming refugees due to hurricane flooding, which claimed large areas in both of these states, the kind star decided to take action. “I’m just grateful I can do it. We have to take care of one another,” Sandra said.

Scientists believe that the recent increases in global temperatures are generating bigger and more dangerous storms.

Hurricane Katrina left its mark in 2005, causing severe property damage in numerous coastal areas.

In 2017, Hurricane Harvey hit the U.S. with a diameter of 280 miles and winds of 130mph, pouring an estimated 11 trillion gallons of rain on Texas.

While the damage was great, the amount of compassion and kindness people showed to their neighbors was even greater.

The Vice President of the Red Cross, Elizabeth Penniman, told CNN that their organization is, “thankful for the overwhelming and generous response from those who want to help.”

“Massive disasters like Hurricane Harvey create many critical and immediate needs, so we are heartened by donations like this — which allow us to provide immediate shelter, food and comfort to thousands in need. The entertainment community has been so supportive to the Red Cross in response… and we are so grateful,” Penniman added.

Hurricane Harvey had hit just as congress voted to take away $876 million of funding for the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Disaster Relief Fund (FEMA), in an attempt to raise money for the building of a border fence between Texas and Mexico. After seeing the level of damage caused by recent hurricanes, they are having to re-think their decision.

Sandra has a history of having a compassionate generous heart. After the tsunami of 2004 in Indonesia, she donated $1 million to the Red Cross. Again in 2005 after Hurricane Katrina, she donated another $1 million dollars. In 2010, she donated $1 million to Doctors Without Borders to aid the Haiti earthquake relief effort. After the attacks of September 2011, she also donated $1 million to the Red Cross.

Her movie The Blind Side also tells a beautiful and true story of a woman who compassionately adopted a poor and homeless student, who later went on to become an NFL star.

Sandra Bullock shows us that in times of need, her compassionate heart is always there to help those who are suffering.

Kind Employee Slowly And Patiently Helped Walk A Blind Man Through Entire Store While Holding Hands

One day while shopping, Meghann Shaw happened to witness something beautiful that warmed her heart. She was walking through the aisles when she noticed an employee silently and slowly walking an older blind man and helping him get the items he needed.

Her heart was moved, and she shared the beautiful experience online.

“I’ve been trying to place the right words into this post for a little while now. Yesterday afternoon, I had to go to Biloxi Walmart to pick up a prescription. While in there I noticed a store associate and an elderly blind man walking hand in hand.”

“She escorted him throughout the store. With all the hate in the world, she gave love. Without the man seeing her, she showed him pure compassion and love. Be the change you wish to see in the world.”

Meghann remembered how sweet the moment was, as the employee and the blind man were walking hand-in-hand.

“I was amazed. The first thing that came to my mind was how sweet it was. They were walking hand-in-hand,” she said.

‘Be the change you wish to see in the world’ is a famous quote by the compassionate Mahatma Gandhi, and it is a great lesson for what we can do when we want to see more love taking place in our beautiful world.

When we wish for more love and kindness, let’s be the change by ourselves showing love and kindness to the people we encounter each and every day. One by one, act of kindness by act of kindness, we can truly change the world for the better, and together, we can be the change.

While stopping at a drive-thru for some ice cream after a long day outside, Pastor Brent Kelley and his children witnessed a heart warming moment take place with an older couple.

“So today, I took the kids to the pool and we stopped for ice cream on the way home. When I got my ice cream and pulled out, I realized that this elderly man beside me was sitting outside his car door, spoon feeding his wife ice cream who also looked in her late eighties.”

“He draped a towel over her and slowly fed his bride in the 98 degree temperature. It was a beautiful display of love,” said Brent.

While we often only hear of the stressful and fear-based situations going on in the world from the media, this story reminds us to open our eyes and take a look around; there are beautiful acts of love and kindness happening all around us each day. When we start to notice them, our hearts open and our focus shifts to see the good things happening in life.

The truth is that acts of kindness and compassion happen thousands of times more than the scary events we see on T.V. each day, and by keeping our eyes focused on the bright side of life, we will in turn, be happier people.

This Employee’s Gentle Act Of Love Inspired All As They Waited For Help To Arrive

0

When an older woman passed out while shopping with her daughter, an act of kindness provided the support she needed until help arrived.

Brittany McKee, a registered nurse was also shopping at the time, noticed the passed out woman and after she regained orientation, encouraged her to stay seated on the ground until an ambulance arrived. Without a word, one of the employees of the store sat down on the ground next to her and supported her back the entire time. Brittany and those around were moved by the man’s act of kindness, and she shared the following post online, which has since been shared hundreds of thousands of times across the world:

“Following my appointment this morning to check on our growing baby boy, my husband and I stopped at Walmart in Evans to pick up a couple of things. As we were walking to the refrigerated section, we noticed a woman who had passed out and fallen on the floor.”

“Being a registered nurse, my first instinct was of course to stop, assess, and be there to help. She had regained orientation, but did say she was on blood thinners and felt dizzy. So I stayed with her, along with her daughter and the Walmart personnel, until the ambulance came and tried to encourage her to stay seated.”

Brittany was deeply moved when she saw one of the employees, unasked, gently sit down on the ground next to the woman to help give her something to lean on.

“The Walmart staff was amazing. They kept in contact with dispatch as we waited on the bus to arrive. Then there was Jason. I don’t know his last name, but this man, no questions asked got down on the floor with this woman and supported her back so she could lean against him. He literally got down on the floor to serve her, not because he was asked to do it, he wasn’t, but because he wanted to.”

At a time when society is struggling with the topic of racism, Brittany’s heart deeply appreciated seeing two people with different skin colors being compassionate for one another.

“The media lately shows our country divided, filled with hate and racial tension, but this right here was one human being loving and serving another without condition of race or obligation. While we waited, another man stopped, knelt down and prayed over this woman.”

“What I experienced today was love, kindness, and serving. We are human beings, each and every one of us regardless of how much pigmentation our skin has or doesn’t have. I couldn’t help but share because the media doesn’t seem to report this… the unity and the positive that occurs. This right here is real life, this is what it’s all about, not hate.”

Jason’s gentle act of kindness helped the woman during a time of difficulty, and teaches us that we should all be there for each other. While our skin colors may be different, science has proven that inside we are all biologically the same; that ‘race’ itself is not a real biological grouping. We truly are all one human race; one human family, and it’s beautiful to witness us coming together in acts of love and kindness towards one another.

A Distressed Grandma Misdialed A Stranger But He Came To Help Anyway

2

The world is one big family, and we all need to help each other.

When a distressed elderly woman who, by accident, phoned the Stratstone BMW dealership in the U.K., Dang Vuong turned the experience into an incredible act of kindness.

Dang, the sales manager, was alerted by his receptionist that a call had come through from an 80-something woman who had fallen in her bathroom.
The woman had meant to call her daughter, but Dang didn’t think twice about the mistake, and immediately drove to her home to help her.

“My initial thought was that I needed to help her, and make sure she is OK. I made sure our receptionist stayed on [the] line until I arrived,” said Dang.

He found her front door of her home unlocked, walked in, then found her on the bathroom floor with a wound on her face, and the tub overflowing.

“I felt like I had to go and help because I couldn’t live with myself if something happened to her and I didn’t even try. If it were my grandparent, how would I feel if she was left alone?” he said.

The woman was surprised at first, but so very thankful for Dang who dressed her wound and helped her lay down on the sofa.

“I’ve been brought up to help people, especially my elders,” he said.

Once she was settled, Dang waited with her until a family member arrived.
Once the woman’s granddaughter, Sara Tweedy, heard about the heroic act of kindness Dang performed for her Grandmother, she made this post on social media;

“I would like to say a massive thank you to the manager at BMW Silverlink for helping my nana today. After falling in her house this morning she tried ringing my Mam, however, she got 2 digits wrong which lead to her ringing BMW. The manager got in his car and went straight to her house where he found her on the floor, and her bath was almost ready to overflow. He picked her up and was able to contact us through her Mobile while he stayed with her until my Mam got there.”

“We can’t thank him enough for what he did for her, there really are some caring and thoughtful people out there that don’t get recognized for what they do. Hopefully someone will see this that knows him and he can see how grateful we are! I will be calling in to thank him in person too. Feel free to share this post”

“They are so grateful of my actions,” Dang said of the family. “I didn’t think anything of it, as I would hope any other human being would have done the exact same thing.”
